Pakistan has inaugurated its largest data center. Officials named the facility Karakoram One. The inauguration ceremony took place in Islamabad. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif attended the event. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also participated.

Prime Minister Sharif addressed the inauguration ceremony. He called Karakoram One an extraordinary project. He described the facility as impressive. He stated that the rapid construction proves Pakistan's technical capabilities.
Sharif said challenges cannot block national progress. He noted Field Marshal Munir's cooperation and vision. He credited Munir's support for accelerating national development projects.
Sharif mentioned Federal Minister Ahad Khan Cheema. He also mentioned Federal Minister Shiza Fatima Khawaja. He directed all ministries to adopt the new system. Ministries must replace traditional file systems with digital methods.

Karakoram One represents Pakistan's first sovereign digital infrastructure platform. The project carries the full name Sky 47 Karakoram One. It aims to create a data-based economy.
The project includes data centers in multiple cities. Facilities will operate in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Additional cities will host further data centers.
These centers will ensure uninterrupted services during emergencies. They will also keep national data secure.
