ECP Announces Delimitation Schedule for Seven KP Districts

The ECP delimitation process begins in seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Election Commission of Pakistan released the official schedule this week.

The affected districts include Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Shangla, Malakand, Upper Chitral, and Bajaur. Authorities will follow the Constitution of Pakistan and the Elections Act 2017.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Act 2013 also guides the ECP delimitation exercise. Relevant Rules of 2020 will apply throughout the process.

Officials will constitute delimitation committees between July 22 and 27, 2026. They will provide maps and official records during this period. Staff training will also occur within this timeframe.

The preliminary ECP delimitation of Village Councils and Neighbourhood Councils runs from July 28 to August 28, 2026. Draft lists will emerge during this phase.

Authorities will publish these draft lists from August 29 to 31. The public can review proposed boundaries during this window.

Stakeholders may file objections from September 1 to 18, 2026. Members of the public and prospective candidates can participate. The Delimitation Authority will decide all objections by October 5, 2026.

Committees will receive decisions by October 12. The final ECP delimitation notification will follow on October 17, 2026.

The commission emphasizes transparency throughout the entire process. Local bodies elections depend on accurate boundary demarcation.
