Meta Muse Image is now rolling out across Meta AI as the company expands its generative AI tools. Meta Platforms announced the update on Tuesday. The new model comes from Meta Superintelligence Labs and introduces advanced image generation and editing features.
Meta Muse Image can understand complex prompts with greater accuracy. Users can also upload photos as input for image creation. The model supports direct image editing through sketches and annotations. These tools allow users to modify generated images without starting over.
The company will use Meta Muse Image to power more than 30 new AI effects for Instagram Stories. It will also enable image generation inside direct chats with Meta AI on WhatsApp. The rollout begins in select countries before reaching additional markets.
Meta said it plans to expand Meta Muse Image to more countries over time. The company also intends to integrate the model into Facebook and Messenger. This wider rollout will extend image generation features across more Meta services.
Basic access to Meta Muse Image through Meta AI will remain free. However, additional image creation capabilities will become available through Meta subscription plans. The company did not announce pricing details for those advanced features.
In April, Meta introduced Muse Spark, the first text-and-reasoning AI model from the Meta Superintelligence Labs team. The company created that team last year as competition increased in the artificial intelligence sector.
Advanced AI models continue to support software development, content generation, and customer support automation. These systems have become central to the broader AI market. Companies are investing heavily in new capabilities and wider product integration.
Meta also announced an early preview of Muse Video, its upcoming video generation model. The preview signals the company's continued investment in generative AI technologies.
The latest rollout marks another important step in Meta's AI strategy. Users will gain more creative tools as Meta expands availability. The announcement reflects the company's significant focus on bringing generative AI features across its applications.
