WhatsApp iPhone cloud backup feature with WhatsApp server and Apple iCloud options

WhatsApp iPhone cloud backup is a new feature currently under development for iPhone users. The feature will allow users to save chat backup files directly on WhatsApp servers instead of Apple iCloud.

According to WhatsApp Beta Info, the feature remains in development. It is not available to beta users at this time. WhatsApp has not announced a public release date.

Currently, WhatsApp on iPhone stores chat backups in Apple iCloud. Apple provides 5GB of free cloud storage to users. That storage is shared across photos, documents, device backups, and data from other applications.

Large collections of photos and videos can quickly consume the available iCloud space. As a result, WhatsApp chat backups may fill the remaining storage sooner than expected.

The upcoming WhatsApp iPhone cloud backup option aims to address this limitation. Users will be able to choose whether to store backups in Apple iCloud or directly on WhatsApp servers.

The report states that iCloud will remain the default backup option. Users who prefer iCloud will not need to change any existing settings after the feature becomes available.

The new WhatsApp iPhone cloud backup system is expected to provide greater flexibility for backup management. It may also offer improved privacy and additional storage alternatives for iPhone users. However, WhatsApp has not confirmed final implementation details or a launch schedule.

The WhatsApp iPhone cloud backup feature could simplify backup choices while reducing dependence on limited free iCloud storage. This promising update may benefit users managing large chat histories and media files. Many users are eagerly awaiting its official release.
